Press Release on Tipsport Czech Ladies Open 2021

Beroun, 10 March 2021 – If the current emergency situation so allows, the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open 2021 from 25 to 27 June will be a leading golf event on Czech courses. After last year’s premiere, the tournament will return to Beroun Golf Club and will be part of an incredibly packed tournament schedule on the Ladies European Tour 2021 (see LET press release), which visits four continents.

“We are very pleased, as are our members, that the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open tournament is returning to our course after a year. I’m convinced that the course and the whole site will be perfectly prepared in June and will comply with the parameters of the second most important world tour,” added Beroun Golf Club President Vojtěch Matějček.

The Tipsport Czech Ladies Open 2021 will be the last tournament for the European ladies’ elite from which players will be able to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo and it will also be a nomination tournament for the Solheim Cup in the autumn. It is also planned for the introductory part of the “23-week European tour” and this ensures the best possible player participation. 132 players from 25 countries around the world will compete for the financial reward of CZK 5,200,000.

We can count on seeing both previous winners of the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, Carly Booth from Scotland and Emily Kristine Pedersen from Denmark. Other strong players will include past LET tournament winners Annabel DimmockFlorentyna ParkerHannah Burke and Amy Boulden. Last year’s podium finishers at our tournament, Christine Wolf from Austria and Saana Nuutinen from Finland should return to our tournament, as should the popular and successful Swede Julia Engström.

The Czech group should comprise up to ten players, of which half will be the best amateurs, who last year confirmed their excellent performance and position in the WAGR world amateur rankings when five of them made the cut for the final round.

“We are in contact with the best Czech golfer Klára Spilková. I would be so bold as to say that if her LPGA programme does not conflict with it, she will be happy to again play the Czech LET event.”

“I am very pleased by both the continuing support and cooperation with the title partner, the bookmaker Tipsport, and the partnership with Beroun Golf Club. I greatly prize the assistance of all our partners who, I trust, will stand by us even during the COVID period, cooperation with the Czech Golf Federation and obviously the Ladies European Tour Ltd. itself. The tournament’s position binds us hold a successful event similar to the one last year, which was confirmed by the positive response from many sides, in particular the ranks of the players themselves,” said promoter Luboš Koželuh.
