The Tipsport Czech Ladies Open is one of a record number of 21 tournaments to be broadcast by O2 TV Sport this year thanks to the purchase of the rights from the Ladies European Tour and its own production. The highlight of the golf season will take place on 24 – 26 June for the third time at Royal Beroun GC and it is one of the sports channel’s priorities.
O2 TV Sport has acquired the exclusive rights to the Ladies European Tour for the 2022 and 2023 seasons at a time when Czech ladies golf is becoming increasingly popular. The professionals Tereza Melecká and Kristýna Napoleaová have cards for this season. They are also participating in the first LET 2022 tournament, the Magical Kenya Ladies Open. The two final rounds, on Saturday, 12 February from 13:00 to 16:00 and on Sunday, 13 February from 12:30, will be broadcast live on O2 TV Sport.
The Ladies European Tour season has record-breaking total prize money of €24.5 million and the highest-ever number of tournaments. The Tipsport Czech Ladies Open will once again contribute € 200,000 and a traditionally high-quality starting field. The tournament was broadcast by O2 TV Sport last year as its first ever golf broadcast.
“I’m delighted that we can be part of the ground-breaking O2 TV Sport project with the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open. The Ladies European Tour is set for a record year in many ways. Year-round broadcasting in such a form is unprecedented and is proof that Czech golf is growing a very promising new generation of female players,” said tournament promoter Luboš Koželuh, owner of Premier Sports.
Tereza Koželuhová and Šideri Váňová should also appear at LET tournaments. The biggest attraction for the Czech fan may be the expected start of Klára Spilková in Beroun. She is the only Czech woman to win a Ladies European Tour tournament, was a member of the LPGA and will be playing on the second American series, the Epson Tour, this year.
“We managed to acquire the rights to twenty tournaments from the entire Ladies European Tour 2022 series. The Tipsport Czech Ladies Open in Beroun will again be a separate broadcast by O2 TV Sport and a highlight for Czech golf. We are preparing a rich accompanying programme for this tournament together with interesting guests in our studio,” revealed Marek Kindernay, Executive Director of O2 TV Sport.
Klára Janáčková and Čeněk Lorenc will take turns in the commentary box on O2 TV Sport. The commentary and studio experts will be Zuzana Boučková Mašínová, the first Czech member of the Ladies European Tour, and Eva Koželuhová, a professional golfer and coach with playing experience from both the LET and the LET Access Series.
