XXX. Czech Golf Evening Honored the Winners

The jubilee XXX. Czech Golf Evening symbolically connected thirty years of history with the extraordinary 2025 season. The titles of Czech Golf Federation Golfer and Golfress of the Year were awarded to Filip Jakubčík and Veronika Kedroňová, while among professionals, Petr Hrubý and Sára Kousková emerged victorious.

The Czech Golf Evening celebrated thirty years of its existence. The jubilee edition reflected on the journey of Czech golf from its first intimate gatherings to the current grand gala evening, which annually summarizes the most outstanding sporting performances of the season and has become a fixed part of the domestic sports scene. It was conceived as a meeting of personalities who have shaped the history of Czech golf. Among those appearing on stage were, among others, Miroslav Holub, the very first winner of the ČGF Golfer of the Year award, David Procházka, three-time recipient of this honor (2009, 2010, 2011); Lucie Sivá (born Šarochová), named ČGF Golfress of the Year in 2003; and Roman Svoboda, two-time award winner (2002, 2005).

The gala evening at the Slovanský dům gradually presented all categories, from youth awards to main amateur and professional honors. The program naturally connected different generations of Czech golf and emphasized the exceptional nature of the jubilee edition. The program also featured a live music performance by the band Mirai, adding a social dimension and enhancing the overall atmosphere of the XXX. Czech Golf Evening.

The recipients of the ČGF Golfer and Golfress of the Year titles were decided by an expert jury composed of 49 invited personalities. The panel included sports journalists, current and former ČGF officials, members of the Hall of Fame, tournament promoters, and other experts from the golf community. Each juror could vote for one of the five nominated players in each category. “I am very pleased that all invited jurors participated in the voting and that we received complete feedback. It shows respect for the award and the players’ performances. The voting had clear and transparent rules: each juror selected one name from the five nominees, and the total number of votes gave the results a definitive weight,” said ČGF Secretary General and STK Chairman Aleš Libecajt, who oversees the voting.

In the amateur category, the clear winner was Filip Jakubčík, who received 48 votes, while Louis Klein received one vote. Jakubčík had an extraordinary 2025 season, during which he became the first Czech winner of the European Amateur Championship and ended the year as the top European amateur. Consistent performances at international tournaments pushed him into the absolute top of world amateur golf, which was clearly reflected in the poll results.

Among the amateur women, the title of ČGF Golfress of the Year was awarded to Veronika Kedroňová, who received 39 votes. Natálie Saint Germain received nine votes, and Anna Ludvová one. In 2025, Kedroňová confirmed her performance both on the university scene in the USA and at international amateur tournaments. Regular top finishes, including two victories in the overseas NCAA, resulted in a significant rise in the world amateur rankings and made her the clear choice of the jury.

The closest contest was in the professional category. Petr Hrubý won with 29 votes over Filip Mrůzek, who received 20 votes. During the 2025 season, Hrubý drew attention primarily for his performances on the Korn Ferry Tour and became the first Czech professional to qualify for a PGA Tour event. The close poll result corresponds with the players’ positions in the world ranking, where they are separated by only a few dozen places.

In the professional women’s category, Sára Kousková dominated, receiving 45 votes. Jana Melichová received three votes, and Patricie Macková one. Kousková defended her previous year’s victory in the poll, and with two triumphs on the Ladies European Tour in 2025, she reached the absolute top of Czech professional golf. For the upcoming season, she has secured entry to two major tournaments and holds the highest ranking among Czech professional women golfers.
