Eleven domestic players—nine professionals and two amateurs—will tee off at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, the largest golf tournament held in the Czech Republic. The event will take place at the Royal Beroun Golf Club from 26 to 28 June, already for the seventh time, and this year with increased prize money of €350,000.
Spectators can look forward to excellent on-site conditions, convenient parking, refreshments, and retail stands, as well as a supporting program including golf lessons for children and autograph sessions. Above all, they can expect top-level golf, which will be broadcast live throughout all three days on Oneplay Sport.
“The tournament is fortunate to have outstanding partners and a great venue, as well as winners who have typically used success in Beroun as a springboard into the international scene. Moreover, four years ago Jana Melichová won here as an amateur, and I believe that such a home success could be repeated given the current strength of Czech golf,” said tournament promoter Luboš Koželuh at a pre-tournament media briefing.
He also thanked the six main tournament partners: Tipsport, the Czech Golf Federation, Royal Beroun Golf Club, Oneplay Sport, the National Sports Agency, and Lexus.
International competition this year includes six players from the current Top 10 of the Order of Merit, including the second-ranked player and this season’s two-time tournament winner Agathe Laisne from France. This year’s champions also include England’s Esme Hamilton, Germany’s Leonie Harm, and Thailand’s Aunchisa Utama.
“A prestigious venue such as Royal Beroun Golf Club deserves a tournament of this importance, with both local and national impact. We are pleased to host this event for the seventh time and to see both Czech and international players returning,” said club president Vojtěch Matějček.
“Every such prestigious event places Czech golf on the world map,” added Czech Golf Federation president Petr Uhlík.
The Tipsport Czech Ladies Open received a special award from the Ladies European Tour last year as the tournament with the greatest year-on-year overall improvement.
“Further significant improvement has been visible over the past month in terms of course quality. The head tour agronomist described the greens here as the best of all this year’s tournaments,” said tournament director João Pinto.
Title partner Tipsport identified three top favourites ahead of Friday’s start, all with odds of 15: Sweden’s Kajsa Arvefjäll, India’s Diksha Dagar (winner of the 2023 event), and Germany’s Alexandra Försterling. Behind them is Slovenia’s Pia Babnik (odds 17), while the fifth favourite is Czech No. 1 Sára Kousková (odds 21), last year’s two-time LET winner and holder of two top-10 finishes this season. The face of Tipsport, who recently extended her contract through the 2028 Olympic Games, also has the lowest odds (2) for the best Czech result.
“Spectators and golf fans can place bets primarily via the mobile app and also follow the action live on TV Tipsport,” reminded Václav Sochor on behalf of the betting company.
At the end of the media briefing, four Czech professional players had the opportunity to personally invite spectators to Beroun:
Sára Kousková: “There is a strong chance that a Czech player will win. In addition, visitors can look forward to a beautiful walk on a perfectly prepared course.”
Patricie Macková: “At golf, spectators can stand just a few meters from the players, listen to the dialogue between player and caddie, and learn something valuable.”
Jana Melichová: “The Beroun course is very spectator-friendly. The holes are close together, allowing viewers to follow several groups at once from a single spot.”
Tereza Melecká: “The tournament has a very strong field, no clear favourite, and spectators can see all the players up close.”
