For the first time, the winner of the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open was decided in a playoff. The eighth edition of the Ladies European Tour event at the Royal Beroun Golf Club was won by Finland’s Noora Komulainen on the first playoff hole; thanks to a birdie on her replay of the par-5 18th hole, she defeated her two opponents, Sweden’s Lisa Pettersson and Australia’s Justice Bosio.
After the final round, the three professionals were tied at 18 under par, setting a new tournament record over 54 holes. Komulainen capped off a brilliant finish in the playoff, adding a fifth birdie—the winning one—to her streak of four consecutive birdies in regulation, and claimed her first LET title after fourteen seasons.
“My dream of winning a tournament on the Ladies European Tour has come true, and what’s more, I did it in front of my loved ones—my daughter and my husband, who served as my caddie. I’d like to thank Tipsport for their long-standing support of this great event, the Royal Beroun Golf Club for the superbly prepared course in exceptionally warm weather, and Premier Sports for the flawless organization,” said the delighted winner.The top domestic player was the Czech No. 1, Sára Kousková, with a score of 12 under par, who repeated her first-round score of 65 (-7) in the final.
“I’m glad I was able to put in another strong performance in the final, which motivates me for upcoming tournaments as I prepare to compete in two majors,” said Kousková, who tied for 20th place.
Jana Melichová, the 2022 tournament champion, finished at 10 under par overall and tied for 36th place. Lucie Váchová achieved her best result in her first season on the LET, tying for 43rd place at 8 under par. Patricia Macková also tied for 43rd place. Tereza Zapletal Koželuhová finished at 4 under par, placing her in 61st place.
“We experienced the most dramatic finish in recent years. Overall, it was another very successful tournament, both for Czech golf and in terms of the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open’s standing on the Ladies European Tour. Its significance was further underscored by a visit from the series’ new CEO, Tom Phillips, who praised our work and our plans for the future. We’re already looking forward to next year’s edition, which is scheduled to take place a week earlier in 2027, on its traditional dates.
