Ladies European Tour in Florida: Spilkova is a close second place, and Kouskova is tenth!

The great season of the Czech golfers on the Ladies European Tour went on at the Aramco Team Series in West Palm Beach, Florida, where two Czech women finished in the top ten in the $1 million competition!

Klára Davidson Spilková finished second in the individual standings on the Trump International course, just a shot behind the winning Spanish player Carlotta Ciganda, to record her fourth top-10 finish of the year. In addition, her team with Laura Beveridge and Lisa Petterson finished in eighth place. In the overall LET rankings, Klara has moved from ninth to fourth place!

Sara Kouskova had her first top 10 on the circuit, sharing 10th place. The third Czech golfer in the cut, Tereza Melecka, finished a split as 55th with +13 and added a third place in the team competition with captain Lydia Ko, while neither Jana Melichova nor Kristýna Napoleaová made the cut (+10).

Before the final round, Davidson Spilkova finished in the shared second place. However, she kept calm in a round of collapses by world stars, giving her a final score of -1 (69-72-74). Along with Ciganda (-2), she was the only player overall under the same limit of the course. She beat, among others, third-ranked New Zealander Lydia Ko, fifth-ranked American Alison Lee, and 15th-ranked Indian Aditi Ashok. It is also her best result of the season, in which she was already fourth at the Aramco Team Series in Singapore, among others.

“Mentally, it was a tough round on a challenging course. I played my best on the first day when everything was going nicely. The next two rounds were a roller coaster. I fought hard on the final ninth, where I felt great. To drop a shot or two more would have been nice, but I’m satisfied,” said Davidson Spilkova, who, after years on the LPGA, finally conquered the American course as a new member of the LET. She is now fourth in the Race to Costa del Sol rankings behind Ashok, Swedish Lynn Grant, and Spanish Ana Pelaez.

Sara Kouskova, who studied in the USA, takes her first Top 10 finish from Florida for +4 (72-77-71) on both the Aramco Series, where she competed for the first time and the Ladies European Tour. Not only did she cut for the seventh time in her debut season on the LET, but she also made the top 10 thanks to three eagles in the tournament, leaving behind such caliber players as last year’s European No.1, Grant, and American Lexi Thompson, who shared 21st place.

A month before the start of the Tipsport Ladies Czech Open at the Royal Golf Club Beroun (23d – 25th June), the Czech golf is in exceptional shape, and we can only look forward to seeing what she is going to show at her home tournament, where Jana Melichova won last year, and Klára Davidson Spilkova shared second place.
